Cargo transit in a transitional environment
Our client had a requirement to transport high value goods by land across a Middle Eastern country in a post-hostile environment.
Not only did Gennaker offer the appropriate cover, but we also agreed to include a profit commission clause in the event of a claim free transit, on the condition that the Insured engaged a security escort as part of the terms supplied by the underwriter.
As the goods were delivered to their destination with no events in transit, the Insured was successful in engaging the appropriate level of insurance and security to ensure the safe delivery of the goods, vehicles and drivers.
DNA to the rescue
In a recent fatality situation, the persons killed could not be identified due to the severity of the incident. In order to meet local laws and air operator practices, the bodies could only be officially identified by a process of obtaining DNA matching with relatives.
Gennaker agreed to pay these costs as the DNA matching was necessary in order to repatriate the remains to their countries of domicile.
Meeting the need
In a recent enquiry, the purchaser asked whether their profits could be protected should an incident occur that resulted in a transport centre being placed out of action by a terrorist bomb.
Gennaker, through close assessment of the methods of operation and strict contingency measures, were able to accommodate this within the terms offered.
